Meet The Team

Owner and Lead educator for The Refinery with 10 years of experience. Vicki was born and raised in south central Texas. She attended Seguin Beauty school and quickly developed a love for the art of hair cutting and customer service.  She has traveled the United States attending many  Barber specific trainings and competitions. She served 2 years on an "artistic demo team" for a national brand, on which she trained under some of the country's leading barbering professionals. She returned to New Braunfels in the Fall of 2019 to open The Refinery and build a team of aspiring professionals.

Payton is the manager and lead stylist at The Refinery. She's been a member of the team since shortly after our grand opening in 2019! Payton has been licensed for over 8 years and brings a high level of quality and technical expertise to every service. Beyond hair cutting, she has been leading the technical cutting classes for our in-house training program as well as helping new stylists build a solid foundation and a portfolio of work. 

Darby has been shaking down the men’s hair industry for 8 years and has graced The Refinery with her presence for multiple years now (4). She loves building relationships with her guests and is never short on conversations. She enjoys cutting hair but also loves a good ear and nose wax! Her quirky personality keeps us on our toes but when she is not around, she enjoys watching movies and spends her summers kayaking the Guadalupe River. Oh, and she has a truck.

Alissa (Ali) is from Seguin, Texas and graduated from Seguin Beauty School in 2013. She has been with The Refinery for under a year but has been specializing in men's hair for 6 years. She has shined with her love for bald fades, kid’s cuts, and face shaves! Ali enjoys being creative and detail oriented in her profession almost as much as she loves iced coffee and shopping. When she is not at work grinding out mad fades, she is at home spending time with her son and her chihuahua, Potato. 

 Emily has been a Stylist at The Refinery since 2020. This giant cat lover joined the salon team in our apprenticeship program after being highly recommended from the leadership at Seguin Beauty School. Her easygoing nature makes her a standout conversationalist, creating a welcoming atmosphere for clients to not only leave looking sharp but also feeling valued and understood. Emily, a true expert in her craft, brings both expertise and a friendly charm to every guest interation.

Originally from Dripping Springs, TX, Cayley brings 3 years of experience to the chair. Beyond her work with scissors, Cayley is a running enthusiast, an avid reader, and a traveler at heart.

Known for her warm and friendly demeanor, Cayley creates a welcoming environment where clients feel comfortable discussing their grooming needs. She believes that communication is key to achieving the perfect look.

Born in Las Vegas, Teagan (Tay-gun) moved to Texas Hill Country at 8 years old and has since attended and graduated from William Edge Institute with her cosmetology license. She started her apprenticeship with The Refinery in November 2022 and has since learned the ins and outs of the men's grooming industry training under our senior team. Teagan enjoys hiking and being outdoors, trying new things, and spending time with her Pugs in her spare time.

 Alexis is a born-and-raised Texan from San Marcos with a passion for hair and a knack for fitness.  Upon graduation from William Edge Institute in New Braunfels, she went on to become dual-licensed as a barber and has been mastering the art of a bald fade like nobody's business. 

Beyond the barber chair, you'll find Lex meticulously meal prepping and hitting the gym, sculpting both hair and physique with equal dedication.

Guest Relations Coordinator

Katie was born and raised in southern California and kindly asks that you do not slash her tires in the parking lot.  Katie manages all of our front of house operations, ordering, and guest relations! She found her Refinery family in 2021. Katie is enrolled in   barber school and is set to graduate in the summer of 2024. Despite her sarcasm, she enjoys meeting and building new relationships with guests and her teammates!

Skin Care Specialist

Mia is a 20-year-old licensed esthetician from New Braunfels Texas and graduated from the William Edge Institute Esthetics program. She loves skincare because it is rewarding to see the results that she helps her clients achieve! She finds enjoyment in offering a welcoming and comfortable environment for her clients. Mia is outgoing, bubbly and ready to meet new people!
